Beadwork for myself

Beaded moccasins I am making for me

Sometimes I just have to take the time and create something for me. I started this pair of moccasins forever ago. I wanted some comfy brain tan mocs to wear to rendezvous. So I cut them out, started sewing them, and began beading. That was last year sometime. I had a row and a half done on one of them, put them aside, and haven’t worked on them since. I have been so busy doing other projects, writing the blogs, and of course moving.
When we went to rendezvous last month for 6 days, I was really wishing my mocs were done. My feet were so hot in the moccasins I have been wearing for the past 5 years. Brain tan breathes so much better than any other kind of leather. So I am determined to get these done before we go to Ft. Bridger over Labor day.

I have finished the beadwork on this one, I just need to put on a thicker sole, and the shoelace piece. Eventually, I will fill in the rest of the top with beadwork. For right now though, if  I can get both of them to this point, then I can wear them.

I also made this hat band for my new rendezvous hat. When I told my friend here in Jackson about the hat band, she wanted some for her store, The Hideout.  So I made a few more. She has been selling a wide variety of my stuff for a few years now, she has a great store if you are ever in this area.

Now if I can just get the other one done, I’ll be happy and so will my feet.
