Native American dolls for sale

Native American dolls

As I said in Monday’s post, we have a ton of stuff to sell.

I started making these dolls about a year ago, and have sold them at shows, and in galleries and stores. They have always been displayed and sold in the great shadow boxes that Al made for them. But now, because of shipping, and I don’t really want to take them to shows anymore, I am selling them on their own. I still have the shadow boxes to sell, if someone is interested in them.

These are made with muslin that I tea dyed, and the clothes are either deer hide, or muslin. Most of these dolls have clothes I painted with earth pigments, which is not an easy process as it has to go on dry. The patterns are based on dresses and shirts I have seen that are from the Ghost Dance. The plains Indians practiced the Ghost Dance  in the late 1800′s, with the hope and belief that all the buffalo, and their way of life would be restored.

These other two dolls are dressed in traditional plains Indian clothing. The dress is decorated with real cowrie shells.

Here is an example of the shadow boxes that are available.

Each doll is $75.00 and if you want a shadow box, they are $75.00 too.

All of these are available on the Beadwork page, or you can contact me directly.
