Last weekend was such a blast. Great times with great friends, old and new. The Camp Henry rendezvous is held on the original site and is between Ashton and Driggs Idaho. What beautiful country, green rolling hills, no people, and fresh clean air. We drove over Teton pass into Jackson Hole before the activities started. The Tetons are my favorite mountain range but I’ve never seen them very good from the Idaho side. Thankfully the weather was clear and I was able to get a few photos. We saw this small herd of bison in Driggs too, very cool. White bison are rare and there was even a tiny brand new baby on the ground. Sadly, I couldn’t get any closer to get some good photos. The next day the rendezvous started and we shot archery, and our black powder rifles and pistols. We also threw hawk and knife, and just hung out with friends. I’m not sure what is going on with my shooting ability, but I was first in the pistol shoot, rifle shoot and the aggregate. The aggregate takes your score from all the events, including a great trail walk shoot. Al and I are always in competition with each other, and I whipped his butt in the shoots this time. He did beat me in archery though, this time. Picking up my first prize…..and this is all our best friends, what a crew. Some fellow rendezvous goers. I’ve said it before, but I will again. You will never find more honest, upright, helpful, and caring people anywhere in the world. Sadly, now we are back to reality and lots of work to do in the next couple of weeks. More on that tomorrow.
